Microsoft Office 2016 - Access (Part 2)

This month we take look at another three tips and tricks that you can use with Access.

Tip 1 - Create PDF's of Your Reports

Once you generate your report, click on File, Save and Publish, Save Object As, PDF or XPS, Save As. Name the PDF something that you can remember for easier retrieval later.

Tip 2 - Use the Templates

One of the easiest things you can do to reduce the amount of time you spend on your database is to use the templates. Regardless of your industry, there is a nearly perfect starting place for most of your needs. Spend some time going through the templates to see what works for what you need. From forms and tables to queries and reports, there are templates for just about everything.

Tip 3 - Faster Access with the Quick Access Toolbar

The more you work in a Microsoft product, the more repetitive your tasks are. If you find you are constantly using a couple of functions over and over again, you can make a shortcut.

The Quick Access Toolbar is at the top of the screen. There are several buttons there by default. Add your regular tasks to this bar so that you can execute them more quickly. Also, if there is a function that takes a while to open, add it here. That way you won’t have to worry about forgetting how to find it the next time you need it.
